Nilu Upreti Kharel is a finance-educated business executive and accomplished hospitality leader with over 15 years of experience in operational management, financial oversight, media production, and community leadership. Her professional journey reflects discipline, resilience, and a deep commitment to sustainable small business growth.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance along with academic training in Accounting & Economics, Nilu possesses a strong foundation in financial analysis, budgeting, cost control, and regulatory compliance. Her educational background strengthens her ability to manage operations strategically while maintaining financial responsibility and long-term sustainability.

As General Manager of Meridian Pint Restaurant in Arlington, Virginia, Nilu led daily operations in a high-volume hospitality environment. She supervised staff development, ensured compliance with Virginia ABC regulations and food safety standards, optimized workflow systems, and enhanced customer experience. Her leadership emphasized structured management, operational efficiency, and accountability.

Previously serving as Vice President and Operations Manager at Image AV Pro in Springfield, Virginia, she co-led a professional audio-visual services company for over a decade. In this role, she managed vendor relations, supervised technical teams, coordinated complex projects, and contributed to business development and operational growth. This experience strengthened her executive decision-making, strategic planning, and organizational leadership skills.

In addition to her business leadership, Nilu contributed to broadcast media production as a video editor with Sagarmatha TV and MHz Networks. This experience enhanced her communication abilities, branding awareness, and public engagement expertise — critical assets in today’s competitive business environment.

Currently serving as Senior Vice President of the America Nepal Society (ANS), Nilu plays an active role in cross-cultural initiatives, nonprofit leadership, and community development.
